Production with Film - Part 1

When you shoot on film, budget around $1000 per finished minute total costs more than if you were shooting on video. At the beginning of the production, film stock, more complex camera operations, costly equipment, processing and telecine costs add up quickly!

When planning a production using the Asiva process, shoot on high-quality video, use the minimum amount of detailing, set white balance and light for film. The Asiva process shown below will take care of color-correction and compensate for the film lighting.

Production with film involves costly opticals, dirt fix, and color correction steps, any one of which alone could cost more than the Asiva processing of a video production.

The Asiva process accomplishes overall color-timing, stretches the dynamic range of the video to allow you to work with film lighting, adds grain and frame rate if desired, and the final result is nearly indistinguishable from telecined film at one tenth the cost!
